Yorkville Doctor Charged with Sexually Assaulting Patients Gets New Attorney

Yorkville doctor charged with sexually assaulting patients gets new attorney

Motta & Motta is an established law firm with years of Criminal Defense Lawyer Yorkville IL experience defending clients in a wide range of high profile cases. Among the firm’s recent cases is that of a doctor who is charged with sexually assaulting his patients. Dr. Haohua Yang was charged in December 2014 with sexually assaulting three of his patients. The charges allege that the incidents took place at the doctor’s Yorkville offices between 2012 and 2014. More alleged victims and charges have emerged since, bringing the total counts against the doctor to 28 by 17 individuals. In late 2014, he was taken into custody by U.S. Customs officers at O’Hare Airport as he returned from a trip to China.

The doctor in January 2017 was already found not guilty of one of the sexual assault charges brought against him by a former patient. It was just about one month later when high profile criminal defense lawyer Bob Motta took over as Dr. Yang’s defense counsel. Mr. Motta has decades of experience in major criminal defense cases and brings expertise in trial preparation and courtroom strategies.

At a request made by Dr. Yang, state prosecutors agreed to separate the charges against him, which will allow for the allegations made by each former patient to be tried separately. The decision means that Bob Motta and the Criminal Defense Lawyer Yorkville IL team could be representing the doctor at up to 16 different trials.
